Rodolfo Nin Novoa

Rodolfo Nin Novoa received a traditional Roman Catholic education. He was a member of the National Party, and was also the mayor of his department Cerro Largo (Britannica). In 1994 he joined the Broad Front or the Frente Amplio. Some issues that he has dealt with were the successful prevention of privatizing water supplies and other services (Britannica).
Rodolfo Nin Novoa has been serving as vice president since 2005. His presence in Tabaré Vázquez’s government shows the diversity of the coalition of forces that it represents (Britannica). In the early part of his political career he was part of a Uruguayan conservative party in the Cerro Largo area, this party wasn’t known for an overtly radical political standing. He now currently serves alongside former Tupamaro radicals; who have far different views (Britannica).
